This is a great opportunity to join a successful, growing team of FileMaker database developers working from home for clients around the country and abroad. We’re working with some of the most cutting-edge FileMaker technologies – the FileMaker data API, third-party REST API integration, and always the latest versions of Claris Filemaker Pro.
Hard Skills
Qualified candidates should be able to work with clients and co-workers to assist with database management system design and specification phases. They must also be able to create fully functioning FileMaker Pro solutions from those specifications.
A complete understanding of relational database system structure and how that is implemented in FileMaker Pro is required. Knowledge of database objects, the ability to analyze existing databases, and the ability to develop database documentation is also part of the job.
Familiarity with web integration in general, 3rd party REST APIs, and integration of FileMaker database systems with the web via the FileMaker Data API are important skills. Experience with Claris Connect is a plus.
Other tasks include:
- Writing end-user and systems documentation
- End-user training
- Maintaining server hardware and server applications
- Contributing to company technical blog (on subjects like programming languages, computer databases, and database administration)
Soft Skills
Given the diversity of activities our company performs for its clients, the successful candidate will need to work well with coworkers, clients, and vendors. In addition, you will also instruct and train the database administrator and end users.
Additional Requirements
Education: High School or equivalent. A computer science background is a plus
Experience: FileMaker: 1 year (Preferred); REST API: 1 Year (Preferred)
